With one button, TechBee creates instant, cool, controlled smoke. There is no fire, no bellows, and no need to stop working to relight a smoker.
Built like a power tool, with removable batteries and magnetically snap-on/off tanks that are easy to handle, even while wearing bee gloves. The refillable tank fills quickly and easily, like a squirt gun. Uses food-safe essential oils to help calm bees and move them out of your way during an inspection.
Battery not included. Uses Milwaukee M12 compatible batteries, see https://techbee.us/battery for more information.
Because there is no open flame, TechBee can be used during fire bans. The steady smoke output lets you stay focused on your inspection instead of managing your equipment.
Built with feedback from real beekeepers, the TechBee Smoker is made for working in the field. Designed with a gunk-proof trigger that won’t clog or stick, even when coated with propolis, wax, or honey. It keeps working when things get messy.
For quick checks or full bee yard inspections, TechBee is a modern alternative to traditional smokers. Simple. Reliable.
More than 150 years after Moses Quinby invented the traditional bee smoker, it’s time to rethink it. Join us in moving beekeeping forward.

Forced abscond from the trunk of a tree did not take much to flush them out. We also saw the queen emerge and caught her in a clip.

Hey Travis, that's amazing!!! Love it. Do you mind if I share this one on my YouTube channel? On a side note, I've been thinking of developing a formulation specifically for what I call "evacuation" using essential oils that move bees out of cavities. I've been learning a lot about these smells and I love working with removal pros.
The Technically Beekeeping smokeless smoker and fuel are a great combination of innovation and functionality that makes beekeeping easier and safer. The Vanilla Veil fuel has a pleasant smell, is effective and works as well as any smoker fuel I have tried.

Thanks, Phil! Amazing review, love it!!! Great that the battery is lasting so long. Thank you for taking the journey with me from beta to now, Phil!
Pretty cool tool! 😎 Quite literally. It's fire 🔥season here in Texas, and Bees are hot as ...well... Hades👿. But the Tech Bee Smoker is cool cool cool 🧊. No heat generated no fire danger. The bees move away from the cool vanilla smoke. Makes managing multiple colonies at different properties in the Texas heat bearable and as safe as one can be ( in the Texas heat 🌡️). And around bees🐝🐝 🤠
And I also like the magnetic clip holster for my upper pocket to keep the smoker super handy.

Melody, thank you for the review! I'm so glad that you are enjoying it and staying cool 🧊. Have you been able to try the case lock, lol? 🔐
Very happy with this unit. Small, lightweight, has a magnet on the side so I’m not constantly putting it down and then looking for it (stick it to the magnet in my bee suit pocket), it works super well. Extremely happy with this purchase!
Store owner replied:
Thank you Bill! It is amazing to hear that you are loving it. Do you mind if I use the barrel video on my Youtube?!
Love how compact this unit is. Yes it’s still has a couple things that needs some improvement but all in all very well thought out. If the magnet holding the tank on was a little stronger do the tank doesn’t fall off, if it was a little quieter because some hives get a little aggressive over how loud the fan is, and needs a fix for the leaking tank.
Store owner replied:
I’m glad that you like it Johnny! We are actually working on all of your feedback, including a quieter fan (we’re designing our own). Thank you again.
Very nice, and calms the colony down quickly. Used it for basic maintenance around the house bees. Used it for moving truck loads of bees. Quick grab if you need smoke and do not want to take the time to light a traditional smoker. Not a bad smell, bees react quickly, the scent comes out instantly with no down time. The battery with the bottom stand works best if working 10+ hives. Good for dry grassy areas in the summer.

Thank you for the review, April! I appreciate all your support throughout this process!
Works great and super convenient. If I am going to just be doing a couple colonies or doing quick checks, I typically don't want to fire up my smoker and deal with getting it going, using up fuel, and waiting for it to cool, so I end up skipping it, but with this tool I can just grab and go.

Thank you so much, Kurt! I appreciate the review!
It's a great device, it clears the bees really well, smells nice, and needs no prep time. Just grab it and pull the trigger! No finding fuel, starting a fire, building it up, and all that stuff like a conventional smoker. And the best part is that it smells good! I love my TechBee!

Thank you so much, Abe! I appreciate the review, buddy!
I have seen it in action shen a firmed used it. Looks amazing. Can’t wait to get one. Please make it compatible with Milwaukee, dewalt, makita batteries like lorbo bees OA vaporizer.

Craig, thanks so much for the review. Cool that you got to see it with your friend. I appreciate it.
Regarding the capability, check out this video, I think it will answer your questions about DeWalt and Makita.
I reached out and let them know my smoker had stopped working and they responded very quickly
and had a new one in the mail. I received the new one and it works great
Thanks

Thanks so much, Bill! I'm glad that you're up and smoking again. 💨
Very happy with functionality of the smoker. Not happy with how easy the tank falls out or how the tank leaks if left in the unit between hive checks week to week. Overall B-
Store owner replied:
Hey Matt, I'm sorry to hear about that experience. We are working on the leaking, it sounds like yours is a continuous leak? I'm doing to direct message you about this to figure out what's going on.
I haven’t used my traditional smoker since getting the tech bee smoker, so fast, easy and convenient!
Store owner replied:
Thank you for the review, Jeremy! I love hearing from people that are getting so much value out of the device. 🙌
I had a veteran Beek out to assist with hive inspections, we live in a very dry area. Its awesome to not have to worry where you put the smoker.
Smells way better than yhr traditional smokers as well.
The veteran beek was very pleased that I allowed him to use my new smoker.
Store owner replied:
Karen, thank so so much for the review. I am so glad that you like the TechBee, the Vanilla Veil and that the veteran Beek enjoyed it as well!! That is fantastic.
I live in a high Fire Danger area and have done Cutouts from structure walls, attics and roofs. My old smoker throws out embers. That is scary watching embers go into an attic!
I love the TechBee smoker, I used the supplied link to Amazon and purchased two small M12 batteries and a charger for around $35. The small batteries is compact and looks nice. Opted out of buying the DeWalt adapter just because it would make the smoker huge and heavy.
Store owner replied:
Alan, I'm so glad that it's working well for you. I just was reading about the "heat dome" weather happening in the west right now, yikes! And I agree, catching a customer's house on fire during a cutout is a small liability, lol. I've also heard removal professionals say that the customers like the smell over lighting up a smoker in their home.
Thanks again for the feedback, super cool! -Michael

Hey Daniel:
I"m so glad that you are enjoying it!!! You made my night!

I was surprised that the liquid leaks out of the tip when pointed down toward the hive wasting the "fuel". Otherwise, I love the ease and I appreciate the vanilla smell to the smoke. The bees buzz and scoot down into the hive as expected even with my colony that has been more ornery this year.
Store owner replied:
Thanks, Kevin. I appreciate your feedback!
We are finding through the survey and testing that the nozzle leaking is the biggest issue and we're taking steps to fix this. You can see this video where I discuss the work that I'm doing for this. https://youtu.be/46ht0eM7mS4?si=lo2kfd2HyrF3qUO5&t=31
Finally got to try out the new TechBee Smoker last weekend. As a keeper with hives in multiple places, the amount of time spent lighting and extinguishing a traditional smoker was too much, then there's having your car smell like a campfire all the time. With the TechBee Smoker I was able to jump right into my inspections at every stop. The bees appear to have the same reaction to the vapor as they do with real smoke, the smell is much more pleasant than a campfire. I am liking the quick smoke when needed, and not getting myself smoked when not needed. The TechBee Smoker is easily set down, or attached to any ferrous surface, without worry of setting the surrounding area on fire. The amount of space needed in the tool box is far less than a traditional smoker, especially if you consider the fuel needed to keep it lit. I was able to inspect 8 hives with a 2.0 ah battery, and still had full bars of battery life remaining. Compact, easy to use, less worrisome, time saving, revolutionary is what I would call the TechBee Smoker.
